BOSTON, Sep 23, 2003Digital Rowing has announced the release of a new version of RowPro software that works with the new PM3 Performance Monitor released in August by Concept2 Inc. This meansRowPro is now available to the rapidly growing group of people who have purchased a Concept2 Model D Indoor Rower or upgraded the Performance Monitor on their Model C Indoor Rower from a PM2 or PM2+ to a PM3. "This is a very important milestone" says Digital Rowing President Pete Loeffen. "Previously, only people who had purchased a PM2+ Performance Monitor could use RowPro. The PM3 changes all that. Every PM3 shipped by Concept2 can connect to a PC via a USB cable, and that means that every PM3 can connect to RowPro right out of the box. That's a huge step forward for everyone." The latest release of RowPro works with both the PM3 and the PM2+, with virtually identical operation for both. The key differences are a PM3 LogCard Utility that only works with the PM3, and two existing features (race starts and intervals that include rests of the type where the rower stops rowing) that will be developed for the PM3 in a future release. Digital Rowing has worked with Concept2 to ensure that RowPro and the PM3 interoperate correctly, and this will continue as RowPro and the PM3 continue to evolve. An important aspect of the PM3 is that its firmware can be updated. This will enable existing PM3 users to use the latest features both in RowPro and the PM3 itself as these become available. RowPro for example requires the PM3 to have version 60 or later PM3 firmware, and this means existing PM3 owners may need to update their firmware to use RowPro. RowPro's new PM3 LogCard Utility enables RowPro to act as a central database of Favorites and Results, enabling users to design their favorite workouts in RowPro and load them onto a LogCard, and get their workout results from their LogCards into their personal Rowing Log in RowPro, where they can view, analyze and print them, upload them to the Concept2 Online Ranking, and accumulate meters for the Concept2 Million Meter Clubs. "We've been working on RowPro for the PM3 for months now" says Pete Loeffen, "and we're very pleased to be ready so soon after the release of the Concept2 Model D Indoor Rower. Interest has been high, with thousands of visitors to our website keen to get their hands on RowPro for the PM3. This is the start of a new era in indoor rowing." |
