This means RowPro, until now only available in Home Edition, is now available under a subscription licensing scheme suitable for schools, colleges and other groups, for use by students, staff and members. For home users, Version 2 brings new features, improved usability, and a fresh new style. "We're three years on from the launch of Version 1.0" says Digital Rowing President Pete Loeffen, "and in that time RowPro has taken major steps forward. Many new features like Internet Racing have been added, and there are now thousands of RowPro users in over 30 countries worldwide. Now Version 2 marks the beginning of a new era with RowPro School Edition. We welcome schools, colleges and other groups to the world of RowPro, and look forward to bringing RowPro to students participating in school indoor rowing programs." In RowPro Version 2, the 3D Display has a Broadcast Camerawork option, offering multiple views similar to broadcast TV coverage of a major rowing regatta, and includes an embedded radar display showing where other boats are. "We're very excited about the Broadcast Camerawork" says Pete Loeffen, "because it really brings to life the user's 3D graphics experience. The embedded radar is another key feature, because it's now practical to use the 3D Display for Internet Racing." Also in Version 2, Digital Rowing has worked with Jon Ackland of Performance Lab International to provide a full range of training plans suitable for 11 to 18 year old students, plus a range of short-session plans suitable for people pressed for time, and a range of plans suitable for cross-training or as part of a wider fitness regime. "We've been working on RowPro Version 2 and RowPro School Edition for many months now" says Pete Loeffen, "Under the hood we've made major platform changes, including moving to the .Net Framework 2. These platform changes are important to prepare RowPro for future developments. It's early days for School Edition, and we're looking forward to feedback from schools to help shape future developments." |
