SAN DIEGO, Mar 8, 2008Digital Rowing has launched RowPro Gym Edition at IHRSA 2008, the premier trade show for the health club industry. The Concept2 booth at IHRSA with its 6 Indoor Rowers and 3 large display screens provided an ideal setup for attracting people passing by the booth into a series of short RowPro Venue Races shown in full 3D. Competition was fierce, with crowds of passers-by gathering to watch each race. "The racing was really spectacular" said Digital Rowing President Pete Loeffen, "and drew a lot of attention from the crowd. At times the booth was completely surrounded by spectators." With the release of RowPro Gym Edition, Digital Rowing is now positioned to serve the gym and health club market worldwide with a premier offering to lift the usage and attraction of Concept2 Indoor Rowers in a gym setting. RowPro connects to multiple Concept2 ergs to support group rowing programs and classes in gyms and health clubs. RowPro enables group fitness instructors to set up the same workout on up to 16 Concept2 Indoor Rowers directly from the RowPro PC, then capture all the results for all the participants in the RowPro rowing log. This capability can be used to support and enhance a variety of group rowing activities. "This is the beginning of a journey for us in the gym and health club market" says Pete Loeffen. "We're planning an ongoing series of developments to tailor RowPro for gyms and health clubs. Watch this space." Digital Rowing has already added the capability to arrange Indoor Rowers into doubles and quads for team racing, plus RowPro can also be used to enable multiple locations to row online in real time as a group. "This brings a whole new dimension to what can be done with Concept2 Indoor Rowers in gyms and health clubs" says Pete Loeffen. "In time, we expect quite large competitions to be run using RowPro." "We also see a significant opportunity for groups outside gyms, such as fire, police and military services, to use RowPro to create inter-location leagues and competitions. This is the start of an exciting new era for RowPro." |
