Multi-erg RowPro launched at BIRC 2007

BIRMINGHAM, Nov 18, 2007

Digital Rowing has launched a new multi-erg version of RowPro School Edition at the 2007 British Indoor Rowing Championships (BIRC) and the2007 School and Sports Partnership Conference in Telford, UK.

RowPro connects to multiple Concept2 ergs to support rowing programs in schools, colleges and universities. RowPro enables school rowing coaches to set up the same workout on up to 16 Concept2 Indoor Rowers directly from the RowPro PC, then capture all the results for all the participants in the RowPro rowing log.

"The multi-erg capability is an essential element for schools" says Digital Rowing President Pete Loeffen. "We've invested over a year of development into this radical extension to RowPro into multi ergs, and we plan to continue to add features that support school rowing programs."

Digital Rowing has also added the capability to arrange Indoor Rowers into doubles and quads for team racing, plus RowPro can also be used to enable multiple schools to row together online in real time. "This brings a whole new dimension to what can be done with Concept2 Indoor Rowers in schools" says Pete Loeffen. "In time, we expect quite large inter-school competitions to be run using RowPro."

Schools are already taking up RowPro as part of their fitness programs, particularly to attract students who normally are not active in school sports programs. "The early feedback from schools using RowPro show the 3D graphics and game-like feel of RowPro is a powerful magnet for students" says Pete Loeffen. "This is an important finding and signals a strong future for RowPro in school rowing programs worldwide."
